A Log on the Net

Yeah lately I have been playing DnD, Dungeons and Dragons, first time ever really. I’m quite new to the game, although I used to be quite into playing Magic: The Gathering, basically I would say that M:TG is DnD only with cards and a deck instead of Paper and Dice. I must say I really like it to. The DM (Dungeon Master) is Josh, he is new to being the DM so this will be interesting. My character is a Human Monk, but he is really not a monk anymore, I guess you could say an Ex-Monk, but he can level-up as a monk, kinda confusing, but thats the way we are plaing right now. He is uber powerful too, For a L1 he is good. This could get interesting. Anyways, gtg. l8r.

Go read that first. Now that you have read that you will understand my first comment, least I hope you do. Who the hell would buy an M rated game and think it is ok for children, this is a rhetorical question, and the answer should be NOBODY. But yet people seem to be doing it all the time.

This law suit, least from what I understand, is completely unfounded, not to mention insane. To understand why you must look at the ESRB’s rating system, a very good system I might add, especially at the difference between the M rating and the AO rating, most notably in the age difference. The M rating is rated for 17 years and older, where as the AO rating is 18 years and up. Not much difference, so why are people making such a big deal about this, you might ask?? Because, from what I can surmise, people are too stupid to make decisions on their own. Now this might seem harsh, but think about it, the grandmother buys an M rated extremely violent game for her 14 year old grandson, the rating changes to AO, she sues because she was incapable of realizing the M rating as for 17+ ONLY.

Also the government is stepping in to investigate the whole Rockstar GTA-SA snafu, why you might ask?????? Because people complained and basically stated: “We the people are too stupid to read, so could you step in and decide what we should buy for us so this won’t happen again, please.” I know that that’s a little over the top, but it gets the point across. I am a firm believer that the government should not get involved in stuff like this, my tax dollars could go to much, much better things, not to stupid things like this.

I’m not saying Rockstar is not completely without fault, they should have removed the unfinished stuff, or least disclosed it to the ESRB. But the main party that is at fault is people not reading the label, the ratings are clear and concise, the M rating label even says “Not Suitable for those under 17.” Now if that’s not clear enough, then I ask: “WTF is this country coming to?” I’m done for now, l8r.

Well, first off, Rachel had her b-day on the 24th, yippe, that was fun, we spent the whole day together then we went swimming, lots-o-fun, hehehehe. But on another note, I went to a job interview at BestBuy. It must have went well, because they have called me in for another interview. 3 days after i filled out the application online they called me for the first interview, then 1 day after the first interview they called me in for another interview, the guy had said they wouldnt call for around 3-5 days, if they called at all. I must have made a good impression. Thats kinda cool. I would like to work for Geek Squad, but you never know. Anyways thats all I have for now. bye.

Lets see here... I have been quite busy lately. I’m currently working on a new website for a friend, as with my main site it will be based on the PostNuke CMS. I hope it will turn out good, it should. I want to take it into a differnt direction than my site, design wise, I’m going head on into their NEW templating engine, so far I like it, seems fast and effecient, the next version should be even better, but it wont be here until PN .80, oh well. Sometime i will make the move to PN .750 on my own site, but not yet, I need to be 100% sure the upgrade wont, excuse the pun, Nuke everything, lol. Although I dont think that will happen, you just never know, plus my JDAC theme, you know the one that makes mysite look the way it does, isnt ready for PN .750 just yet anyways. Bye.

Ok, so here is some updates... Rachel and me have been together for over a year now (mm 1 year & 1 month), thats cool, hope to have many many more years. I turned 21, not too exciting, but it is worthy of a post. But one important thing i got for turning 21 is a new LAPTOP. Sweet, my old one broke around first semester last year, that really sucked a lot of @$$. This laptop is quite nice, could be better (but not much). Anyways, hopefully I will update more often. Bye.

CMPSC242, what do I have to say about it?? Well, how about that it sucked ass. But the good news is that I PASSED it, w/ a C. Not to shabby. I know that it doesnt sound like a good grade, but look at this: The class average was a 70 and i got a 76. I passed the final, which was worth 45% of our grade, w/ an 80%, note that the average for the final was a 64%. I really do have a lot to complain about the class, but I won’t, I passed and thats all that matters. Horay for summer, glad this semester is over. BTW, Rachel and me will be celebrating our 1st year together June 5th, 2005. That will be cool. I hope this summer is at least as good as last summer. I think it will be. l8r.

Seems like I (as usual) have not posted is quite a long bit of time. Lets see what is on the magical list of things I have done thus far: Rachel and me have been dating since June 5th 2004 which means its been..... 10 months so far (i hope for many more to come), I have procrastinated more in school (like thats really anything new, lol), I have gotten a sweet new hard disk drive (laptop died, needed a way to transfer crap), oh right just about forgot, i got a NEW CAR! lol (is cool, a ‘94 Olds Cutlass Supreme S Coupe, very nice!), and I went to a wedding (it was the marriage of my aunt Becky Martin and Bob Kavoian). It was one hell-of-a wedding. Wow, its hard to explain it, it was HUGE, like somewhere around 400 people at the wedding. I have pics maybe I will post some later, we’ll just have to see. I really have nothing to write about, I wish I did but alas I don’t. Well, maybe I do. Rachel and me had our 8 month anniversary yesterday. It was great, we ate at Hardee’s and then watched a movie, it was called “Nepolian Dynamite”. The movie was kinda funny, some people might hate it, but others might love it, yet still others (ie me) will feel indifferent about it. I would give it a C+/B-, not horrible but not great. Rachel liked it so thats really all that matters. It was a great day, and I look forward to many, many more.

Seems like i havent posted in quite sometime. Lets see, I have no car, I was in a wreck on Nov. 17, 2004, I was not the cause of it, I was just in it. Who whould have guessed being stopped at a stop light could be so dangerous. Anywho, I passed all my classes with B’s, not too shabby. Other than the wreck and no car, I’m doing great. What a title. Nothing to confusing really, try to figure out what it means..... i’ll give you a hint (it means nothing, cause i just made it up), but it might mean something, like you could use it to discribe RAP or poetry. I’m not kidding here, its not a bad state ment if you say something is: “Mangling words in a rythmic sence of pure enlightenment.” It should be a compliment, least i thinck it should. But i guess some might take it as an insult, to those it say: “Mneh, The mismangement of your electrical impulses defies the comprehension of the most intelligent beings.” Wow, now that a load of conveluted jargon. Which is why I am actually writing this. Jargon, dont we have enough of it. More and more of it comes into the language everyday, all of it just to make someone feel dumb, you could always use real normal words instead of jargon..... That of which I have posted is not really jargon, its just a conveluted sentence, but the point is still the same. Simple, unconveluted sentences are the best, there is no need for super-long conveluted sentences.
