(Disclaimer: read though this
with an open mind, and think about what I have said with some reasonable
thought, this is meant to be thought invoking. So think of it as such)
Who is to say what religion is right and what one is wrong;
who I ask, who? Is it you, think about this for a minute, I mean really, really
think about this question hard. Does anybody have the right to say, with the utmost
authority and certainty, that your religion is wrong and theirs is the only
correct one? I truly believe that no one has this right to make this decision.
If they did have this right, then would they not be either a false profit or a manifestation
of God themselves? Now that statement is a bit of a stretch, I know, but it
does get my point across. I have no right to say that my religion is better or
more correct than yours or anyone else’s, you know why? Because nobody truly know
if they were following the right path, until they die. I know this is harsh,
but it really is just a shot in the dark, a real crap shoot until the end. We
have faith that the path we have taken on religion is correct, but it is just
that faith that it is correct. It is not a fact that it is correct. In
addition, who is not to say that maybe, just maybe, most if not all religions,
are correct in the end, just as long as you believe in something? I personally believe
that there is one and only one God, but that does not mean that it is not as
equally right for someone to believe in another God or Gods. This is what I believe;
this is what I have based my faith upon; I am a Christian. This is what I believe
to be the right path, for me. This does not mean it is the right path for you
or anyone else for that matter. To whoever might read this, think about it, and
think about it hard. Do you have the right to tell someone else that what they believe
in is wrong? Think about it, what if you are wrong? You can profess your faith
and tell others that there might be a better way, but you do not have the right
to decide that your belief is right and theirs is wrong. If you do, are you not
doing God’s work? And, at least in my religion, doing God’s work is something
that you should never do, so deciding who’s religion is right and who’s is
wrong is, and always will be, a burden on God’s shoulders, not a burden that
any mortal human should or can ever bear the weight of. ..::j0n::..

Wow, ok.... been awile.... I modded my xbox, that was fun, installed on xbmc, google it, that was a very good learning experience. I didnt hard mod it, you know with the mod chip and all, what I did was what is called soft modding. Basically you exploit a flaw in a game , like splinter cell, and then you install some more exploits, these will cause the xbox to load up your new custom dashboard, like xbmc <-- the one I recomend. Anyways, thats been about it. Oh and I was acceted to Eureka College, cool. So now I am offically going to college next year, cool. Anyways, thats all for now. l8r. ..::j0n::..

The 50 billion dollar question I am asking is “Is Japan currently on crack, and if so can I have what they are having?” The reason I am asking this is you may wonder? Well, have you seen or heard anything about Nintendo recently, what about Honda and Toyota? All three have named their new product something that can only be described as…”WTF, are you kidding me?” Ok here is the thing, Nintendo has officially named their new console (formerly the “Revolution” which made absolute sense) the “Wii”, and yes that is typed correctly and it is pronounced just like the word “we,” but more on that in a bit. Toyota has com out with a new car called the “Yaris,” and Honda has come out with the “Fit,” and yes both are cars and no I have no clue why they named it that or what it means. It sure does make me wonder as to how any of those board meeting went when the marketing department came up with the names of all three, my guess is that there must have been much, much worse names thrown out the window before they came up with these. But back to my original point, what is going on here, these products are geared toward the American market, not the Japanese market. Lets start of with the “Fit,” ok fist off a horrible name for a car, the “Fit” it does make me want to have a fit that is for sure and no I don’t want the car either. For a second there I thought I was a joke, then it turns out to be a real car, wow really scraping the big ol’ barrel of craptastic names at Honda I see. Next… The Yaris, a better name than the “Fit” but that’s it, but I give them credit for at least coming up with a crack pot name that sounds like a car. Then comes Nintendo, don’t get me wrong I love Nintendo (almost fan-boyishly), with the “Wii,” easy to spell, has in interesting back-story, and above all rhymes with pee, oh and Yippee. Oh yeah a real winner. The Revolution was a perfect name, it described the product, people knew that it was new and different, and guess what it was Revolutionary, seems logical to me to name it the revolution. But alas Nintendo didn’t follow the logic path as well as most people do, I think they got lost at the fork in the road, you know the one that reads: <--Good Name Road : WTF Lane-->. Ok the hardware is still going to be revolutionary, well let’s hope Nintendo doesn’t screw that up too. I will probably still buy the, errrr, “Wii” and still like it. But I still think the Revolution was a great name. Wii on the other hand not so great… But maybe it might grow on me, doubt it but you never know, iPod name did, weird name though. I guess Nintendo thought they needed to come up with something more revolutionary than the name Revolution, well…. The Wii is a different name, I will give them that and nobody will mistake the name, because Nintendo will drill that into our brains, I count on that. But still the “Wii,” Nintendo you really should consider the names before your marketing department is allowed to slap names on things. But I do give them this, they wanted to stir up a, well, revolution with the new console, and I do believe if all the talk that has been going on about it is any indication, then they are well on their way to doing that, albeit with a stupid ass name like the “Wii.” ..::j0n::..

I couldn’t sleep so i wrote this: Time By: Jon M. Martin What is time? We try to cheat time by defying what time has brought. We try to elude time bye hoping time will fly when we are not having fun. We try to catch time when it seems like it is going to fast and we want time to slow. But in all reality time moves constantly and eternally. When we pass the time, we loose it. When we time is flying, it looses us. So… what is time? Is it is an immeasurable entity ticking away, Or is it showing us the way? It flows like a river, And flies like a bird. Yet…. what is time? Nothing more than a relative theory, Or rather is it something more? Time is never the same, Yet is amazingly consistent. As time marches on, Everything is changed: Rocks, animals, plants, and even people. So…. Time is….. Everything and Nothing. Everything, because nothing would exist without it. And Nothing because without everything time would be useless. Time is. That is what time is.
thanks and have a Happy Easter. ..::j0n::..

Wow it seems like it has been forever since I have updated
my blog. Ok so it has been forever since I have…. Well I have been quite busy,
mainly between school and work. Let’s see… I got a B on my history test and a
25/25 on my paper for the class too, awesome, so that brings my grade up to a B
for the semester thus far. Oh and I am going to this career thingy next
Wednesday, seems like it could be a good opportunity for me. Although I don’t
mind working at BestBuy, I would rather work somewhere else that pays better
and is more of a challenge to me and can utilize my skills better. I really
don’t know where I would like to work, but I do have some ideas in my head. I
seem to be doing quite good in all of my classes too, no programming this
semester which is not good, I need to keep practicing on programming so I don’t
get rusty, which is a bad thing indeed. Anyways I will try to keep up on my
blog. l8r.

Go here first: http://www.macworld.co.uk/news/index.cfm?home&NewsID=13879
Ok, now that that’s out of the way. What does the RIAA really think? Our
customers are complete idiots and will steal everything we make? Well here is
my response to that, No we won’t, but crap like this sure makes me angry at
you. The RIAA wonders why every year its revenues decline, let me tell you this
its not because of stealing, its 90% crap like this, 8% is stealing and 2% is
consumers who don’t like or want your product. Bad treatment of your customers,
you know those things that buy the things that you distribute for something, equals
no more buying of those things. Trust me consumers are NOT ignorant and are defiantly
NOT stupid either. If you treat you customers like shit, then they will find a
way to stick it right back into your face and make you eat it, more than likely
buy not buying your wares. The RIAA really thinks everyone steals? Why, because
they can, because they are losing revenue, because some people actually do, because
it gives them a good reason to force consumers to give them more money because
they cannot change with the times, ect. They say you can buy our cd’s, you can
even buy the mp3 player, but you are not allowed to put that cd you just bought
on that shiny ultra portable, ultra sleek, attention grabbing, status upping
mp3 player you just bought. That’s just plain B.S. and quite a load of it too.
Now I understand you have to protect you IP, and you should to that, but you
can only go so far before you start to affect your customers, and when it interferes
with your customers, and coincidently make them very mad at you, because they
cannot do the things that they should be able to do with it, then you hurt your
revenue. If you cannot change with the times, then don’t and die off, else make
you customers happy and come up with new ways to please your customers, not
annoy the hell out of them. The RIAA has been grabbing at straws for sometime
now, but they need to look at the whole picture, shape up or ship out, what
ever one I don’t care, just quit pissing me off, and every other consumer out
there. You should be welcoming the new technology not trying to hinder its use.
Every other company has adapted, so why cant you. Technology is here to stay,
get used to it. Don’t tell us we cannot put your cd, which we just bought, on
our mp3 player, which we own. I suggest that companies should not try to use
the DMCA like its there own personal bitch, and figure out how to adapt to this
ever changing world we now live in. Most consumers are law abiding, product
buying peoples, who are generally willing to spend more, if it means more
freedom to do more with their product they bought. l8r. ..::j0n::..

Dear Santa...
Dear Santa,
This year I’ve been busy!
In August I helped hide a body (-173 points). In July I pulled over and changed ’s flat tire (15 points). Last Thursday I set ’s puppy on fire (-66 points). In March I put gum in ’s hair (-12 points). In November I saved a busload of nuns in Angola (326 points).
Overall, I’ve been nice (90 points). For Christmas I deserve a shiny red ball!
Sincerely, jonrox |
Longest title ever. I see that I have not updated in quite some time. I have been quite busy lately. But anyway last night was Ca.Ca.COLD.D.Da. One big thing about living in the country, always check your propane levels constantly. We didn’t, and it got cold, very, very cold in the house. Hopefuly the gas truck will be able to get out to the house today and fill it up, so I can sleep in warmth. Tomorrow I gets me a new cellphone, w00t, and soon I will finally go out and buy a new Palm tm, awesome, I’m considering the Palm tm Tungstun E2. Then buy a 1GB SD card for it, luckly that will be cheap. So thats what I got for now. l8r. ..::j0n::..

Ok first, odd title... Well, not much going on right now, except for a lot of work and home work. sheesh just too much stuff to do and not a lot of time to do it in. I did some maintenance on my webserver, that was fun, lol. But, on a serious note... one of my co-works got fired on monday, i will not go into detail of what happened, except that it was a little odd to just fire him for the mistake, and I seriously mean MISTAKE, he made. I would say it was an honest meistake, hell I didnt even know that it was wrong, now I do. But so you know, he was one of, well lest say he was, the best sales person on the floor, and nobody would disagree either. So HR thought it would be a good idea to fire the “BEST” sales person they had @ 207. Yep, lets see Business 101 what not to do: 1. Dont fire your employee for a mistake that wont happen again, just write them up or something. 2. Check number 1, if they are the best, then really reconsider your previous firing thought. So the idea here is: Think before you act, then think it over some more. None of us are particularly happy with what happened, but we cannot do anything about it. Oh well, you have my support Kris, so there is a note out to you. Thats all I have for now, l8r. ..::j0n::..
